Every parent wants the best for their children. We want them to be happy and successful. But what does it mean to be successful? One of the meanings of the term success is 'the attainment of wealth, position, honors or the like'...In this day and age there is a lot of pressure to get a good education (often equating to attending prestigious schools) to then be able to become successful. But what happens to those children who don't fit into the "one size fit all" kind of educational system? And is this kind of success the one that brings self-fulfillment in the long run?
Real success is 'the accomplishment of one's goal', a goal set in motion by an inner drive, from a baby learning to stand up and walk, to a teenager finding himself in his social context. It is our duty to guide and support our children in finding and developing their strengths, in order to allow them to find true happiness within themselves and purpose in their life.
